A database data file can become corrupted in the following situations:
- Someone is using WorkExpo and switches their computer off while the connection to the data file is open.
- There is a power surge or power failure while the database is in use.
- Someone tries to open the database with Word or Excel.
- Network issues which may impact on the data file.
Any of the above may or may not cause a data file to become corrupted but if this happens the file can usually be repaired.
Always ensure that you have a good reliable backup of the data file at all times.
How to repair a corrupted database:
- Make a backup of the file you wish to repair before you begin.
